Zürich - St.Gotthard pass - Torino

We are in Torino - a fantastic place full of amazing buildings, people from all over the world and the largest open air market in Europe - and it is 35 degrees!

We are warmly welcomed in Torino by Stefania Pettinato and her husband Ricky Jodde from Magmapadano/El Barrio. Thanks for showing us the town by night, lovely lunch and connecting us to interesting people!

Visiting the gallery Cripta 747 run by Renato Leotta showing a beautiful ceiling smoke painting by Olivie Kosta-Thefaine:

The mobile internet access is costing us some nerves but Maria is patient because she is finally back in Italy:

We are passing St. Gottardo via the mountain road. It is a real adventure and a physical experience to cross from Central to South Europe via this ancient pass way. A lot of dreams, hardship and stories are connected to St.Gotthard and we feel like being part of this myth:

Just outside Zürich we enter Heidiland and have a wonderful Pic-nic with our friends the cows - finally we are out in nature and almost get lost but the navigator wont alow us to really track off - otherwise we could imagine to settle down here for some time. It is so lush and peaceful here that you just feel like eating this nature.

Our lovely host and friend Michael Gmür is treating us voluptuously with Swiss delicatessen such as Sushi, Cheese Fondue, Austrian Schnaps and Prosecco and we realize that Zürich is the Solar Plexus of our journey - a real melting pot of cultures and yet its total own universe.

The water of the lake, which the city is situated at, is entirely turquoise, crystal clear and clean enough for drinking and swimming.

People here like to hang out in many ways and the public space allows it:

At the Missione Cattolica Italiana - an Italian cultural and religious community in Zürich - we meet a lot of new friends:

and receive more objects for our growing collection and our bellies:
